Amazing Start to the Season

What an opening weekend of the season guys and girls.

Our 2 newest teams kicked it all off Thursday with Emu Blue and Emu Red under 8s having a great time out on the fields.

The under 11s then pioneered the new kookaburra 8s format for our club and there was some excellent skill on show.

Onto the friday nights and our under 13s showed great spirit by filling in for Rooty Hill in the friendly game. Many of our under 13s then backed up for our 15s who had a tough first game but we will build on this for the future.

We then pushed on for Saturday and our ladies played some exceptional hockey. The first grade ladies had a great win against semi finalists Penrith RSL 3-1 which is a great result for a new look team. 3rd grade ladies were up next and had a tough hard fought draw against Penrith RSL with our goal coming in the last 3 minutes. Our 2nd grade ladies had a difficult game against Panthers and went down. This team will continue to work on coming together and is made up from alot 3rd grade ladies from last year.

And we finish up today with our mens teams. What a day. For the first time in a very long time all 3 mens teams came away with a win on the same day.

B grade blue kicked off with a great hard fought win against last years C grade grand finalists Rooty Hill 1 nil.

Later in the day we had both sides of the fields celebrating wins with A grade coming out over Panthers B and B grade red overcoming Kings Langley.

A great opening weekend for Emu, lots of exciting things happening so stay tuned and we will keep you informed.
